REMAS Project aims to:
(v) Quantify the risk of emission of greenhouse gases (GHG) in forest areas where wildfires have ocurred;
(vi) Quantify and develop maps of carbon stocks;
(vii) Propose measures for postfire recovery, in order to mitigate GHG emission risk and accelerate the recovery of carbon stocks;
(viii) Contribute for the integration of the risk of emission of GHG from forest fires in national planning, in SUDOE regions.
The study area in Portugal is Serra do Caldeirão (Algarve), in partnership with the Municipality of Loulé.
